It starts inside.

We’ve written before about how the needs of the world can be overwhelming. Earthquakes. Human trafficking. Poverty. It’s on the other side of the world, in our own neighborhoods, and everywhere in between.

It’s easy to name what’s messed in the world OUT THERE.

What’s harder is naming what’s messed up IN ME. I gossip. I manipulate. Essentially, I fail to love.

And once we have the courage to admit we aren’t perfect – that perhaps we need to be changed – it just gets harder.

I mean, have you ever tried to change yourself?

Fortunately, we have a God who’s in the business of doing the impossible – taking hearts of stone and turning them to flesh. We can trust God to change us, and give us the love we need for one another.

And when we actually start to live that love, maybe then we’ll change the world.
